Beef - Bones

Beef - Bones

These bones from our grass-fed cows are packed with nutrients!

All the healthful nutrition our cows consume from foraging on our green pastures, soaking in the sunlight, and breathing fresh air are absorbed deep into these bones.

When you make delicious homemade bone broth from good quality beef bones, there is a difference you can taste and feel.

Bone broth is very nourishing for the body, plus it can be added to so many recipes!

Add it to soups, stews, sauces, rice and grains, sip it on its own, and more!

Beef bones are super economical and one of the most affordable ways to consume bone broth.

How to Cook:

  • Place the bones in a stock pot, add in the vegetables of your choosing, cover the bones with water and bring it to a boil.
  • Skim the scum that forms on the surface for a few minutes and then reduce the heat to a very gentle simmer for 4-24 hours.
  • Season with salt to taste.
  • Strain the broth and transfer to storage containers.

*Tips:

  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice or some apple cider vingegar to the water and bones before cooking. This will help draw more nutrients out of the bones.
  • Use a slow cooker for making broth. This way your stove top doesn't have to be on all day, and there is no risk of burning of boiling over.
  • Alternatively, you can roast the bones first for added depth of flavor.

Our beef comes from our 100% grass-fed and finished cows!

The cows here at Wolf Oak farm spend their time out on our pastures grazing on diverse grasses and clover.

We also over-seed additional types of forbs, legumes and shrubs for a well balanced salad bar for our livestock.

All that grass-fed goodness absolutely shines through in the quality, taste, and nutrition of our pasture raised beef.
